Pet Care
Why is my dog suddenly anxious around certain people?
Anxiety is not just a human condition; dogs can have it also. Sometimes I get customers who are at a loss when they realize that their beloved pet is suddenly showing signs of fear toward people...sometimes even with individuals that they were previously comfortable around. This anxiety does not seem to have any rhyme or reason. Dogs are highly sensitive, not only to human emotions, but also to our body language. If your dog is suddenly fearful around a friend or family member, you or your guest may be giving off some subtle cues that your dog finds threatening. While medical conditions can contribute to sudden anxiety, it is more likely attributed to your dog's level of security and confidence. The more confident your dog is, the better he will be able to remain calm under questionable situations. Great ways to build your dog's confidence are through regular socialization (both human and other dogs) and bonding. Some great activities are daily walks, dog parks, doggie play dates, daily training, and allowing your pet to accompany you to pet friendly events/businesses. This helps expose them to various sounds, people, and other animals...essentially desensitizing them. Show your pet that the world around them is a fun place, not a threatening one.

Services
What is the difference between pet sitting and boarding?
Pet Sitting is a service that allows us to take care of your pet in their most comfortable environment, their home. We can either do scheduled visits to meet their feeding, potty, walking, or general care schedule; or in-home overnight visits can be arranged (based on availability).
Boarding is a service that allows for your pet to be cared for off-site. While this is not part of our standard service, we are occasionally able to accommodate pets on an emergency basis (based on availability). If you should need off-site boarding services, please contact us. If we are not able to accommodate your pet, we may be able to help you find someone who can.

Does my dog have to be trained for jogs / walks?
We work with all dogs, regardless of training history. If your dog is not currently accustomed to leash walks or a jogging program, we can help. Dogs love structure and that is what we provide. We will work with your dog to establish an outdoor activity routine that will make walking or jogging your pet an enjoyable experience for all.
